Description
- Sow pumpkin seeds indoors in mid- to late April in a pot filled with multi-purpose compost.
- Keep the pots in a warm, bright windowsill or a heated propagator at a temperature of 1821C (6570F). Cover the pots with a clear polythene bag to retain moisture.
- Thin out all but the strongest seedling once the seeds have germinated.
- Once all danger of frost has passed, move the pumpkin seedling to the garden. Place the seedling in a hole that is 12 inches deeper and wider than the rootball.
- Pumpkin seeds can be stored in a cool, dry place for up to a year. They can also be stored in a sealed plastic bag in the refrigerator for up to four years.
