Description
- Climate & Soil Grows best in cool to mild temperatures (15-25C). Prefers well-drained, loamy or sandy soil with good organic content. Requires moderate sunlight and does well in partial shade.
- Planting Sown directly from seeds, usually in early spring or post-monsoon season. Seeds should be planted about 1 cm deep in the soil and spaced 15-20 cm apart. Germination occurs within 7-10 days.
- Watering & Care Requires moderate watering; soil should be kept moist but not waterlogged. Avoid overwatering to prevent root rot. Weeding and occasional fertilization with compost or organic manure improve growth.
- Harvesting Leaves can be harvested within 3-4 weeks for fresh use. Seeds are ready for harvest after 3-4 months when they turn light brown and dry on the plant. Harvested seeds should be dried in sunlight before storage.
